Horse Management Outline *NEW HORSE TRAINING/PROBLEM SOLVING CLASS BEGINNING APRIL 2006
The horse management class runs for 8 weeks, year round, for two hours a week. We go over the following:
Class One- Introduction-What to wear-Tour the ranch Class Two- Colors and types of horses-Determining size and age-Conformation and what it means to you Class Three- Handling and catching the horse-Signs of Temperament-grooming and proper knot tying Class Four-Types of saddles and gear-Saddling the horse safely and properly-Good tack vs. Cheap tack Class Five- Trailering-Feet and legs (by Dave Savone)-Spotting lameness Class Six- Getting on and staying on-Signs you don't want this horse-What to do in a bad situation Class Seven- Feed-Colic and other preventable problems-How to maintain your Horse-first Aid Class Eight- Questionnaires-final Class-Any Questions?
During each class we try to have a hands on example. All concerns and questions regarding horses are welcome and we try to cover it all.
